Interview and Book Giveaway! // With Lauren K. Lotter

Hey Everybody! We've got some exciting stuff going on here today!! My friend and fellow author, Lauren, is here with us, and she's going to share a little about herself and her writing, as well give all of you the chance to win a free paperback copy of her book! And, if you head on over to her blog at Heritage Literature, you will find that I'm there today with a giveaway of my book as well! :) So I hope that you will all participate! Information on how you can enter the drawing for Lauren's book, Rustlers and the Texas Trail, can be found at the bottom of this post. :)

Welcome to my blog, Lauren! Tell us a little about yourself.

Thank you, Keri! I am a 19 year old farmgirl from Michigan. I live with my parents, two brothers and a sister. Fall is my favorite time of year and I'm a coffee girl!
In addition to writing, I work for my dad at our family auction company, do some work with horses and I am a photographer.
Besides writing, I enjoy reading, crafts, cooking, farming and pretty much any activity that gets me out-of-doors!

What inspired Rustlers and the Texas Trail?
I have always had a fascination for the old west and anything to do with horses and ranching. Though I am still an avid reader, I pretty much devoured books in my early teen years and I was desperate for western stories. But the only ones I could find were not suitable for a teen girl to be reading(or any age, really). So I wrote my own western story! I had no intentions of publishing it, but as time went on, my family began to encourage me to do something with what I had written.
So here I am! I have had many people tell me how blessed they were by the story and I'm thankful the Lord gave me the ability to write.

Would you give us a synopsis?
Fifteen-year-old Amy S. Kentworthy is in for the adventure of a lifetime when she and her friends find a herd of stolen cattle on a mountain near her family's ranch in Durango, Wyoming-and narrowly escape an encounter with the cattle thieves themselves! In an effort to return the swindled cattle to their rightful owner, Rocking H Ranch, Amy and her father Clint Kentworthy embark on a dusty cattle drive to Texas. Little does she know the many dangers they will face along the way. Dust storms, wolves, and bank robbers each threaten to halt the journey, and the return of the perilous cattle thieves changes everything. Can they bring help in time to stop the rustlers and save the cattle? Will Amy's faith provide her with the courage she needs to face the very same thieves who dared to steal hundreds of cattle? Join Amy in this exciting western adventure as she learns valuable lessons on life, family, and the faith it takes to make it in a ranchin' world.

Who will enjoy Rustlers and the Texas Trail?
It was originally written for teen girls, but it is appropriate for all ages. I have had adults to five year olds reading and enjoying it.

Do you plan to write more books?
Yes, I do. I am planning on having the second book in The Christian Cowgirl Adventure Series, Hidden Treasure and Wedding Bells, published in a few months and I am working on the rough draft to a third book, The Stranger and the Lost Mine.
I will also be publishing a novella within the next month or so titled, Whisper and I am working on a sequel, titled Thunder.
I intend to write many more books/stories in the future!
